Maruti Swift Dzire has won millions of hearts since its launch, in March 2008. Manufactured by Maruti Suzuki Indian Ltd, Dzire is the successor to the company's popular entry-level sedan - Esteem, production of which was stopped in November 2007. The new 5-door notchback car, Dzire offers luxury features, with powerful performance and latest safety equipments, ensuring a luxurious ride. It is the sedan version of the famous Swift hatchback and bears resemblance to its sibling in many aspects.
Engine
Maruti Swift Dzire is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol version is powered by 1298 cc 16-valve engine that generates power of 87 bhp @ 6000 rpm and torque of 113 Nm @ 4500 rpm. The advanced gasoline engine delivers flatter torque curve, even in less rpm, ensuring better performance. On the other hand, the diesel variant is powered by 1248cc turbocharged DDiS engine that produces power of 75 bhp @ 4000 rpm and torque of 190 Nm @ 2000 rpm. The low noise and less vibration of diesel engine provide good fuel efficiency.
Design And Comfort
Dzire comes with a sophisticated look and myriad stylized features. The rich chrome style makes an imposing front grille. The rear side is beautified by chic wraparound tail lamps, while the muscular flared wheel arches and sills are complemented by chiseled shoulder line. The car is designed for better night riding experience. Superior night visibility is facilitated by powerful clear lens headlamps. Dzire offers a high level of comfort to its occupants. The car is equipped with all around power windows for convenience. The driving position can also be personalized, thanks to the height adjustable driver seats.
Interiors
Dzire's one-of-a-kind styling is clearly reflected in its interiors. The elegant dashboard comes equipped with integrated music system, with remote control and powerful speakers. The instrument cluster features a white backlight. The Zxi and Zdi variants of Dzire have steering mounted audio controls as well. These variants are also come with an Automatic Climate Control (ACC) system, which enables you to set the cabin temperature as per your comfort. The on-board computers automatically adjust as per the outside weather, in order to maintain a precise temperature within the cabin.
Ride And Handling
Sound absorbing materials within the cabin of Maruti Swift Dzire enable the driver to have a pleasurable drive. The Zxi and Zdi variants of the car are equipped with adjustable tilt steering, which enables you to adjust the steering wheel according to your height. The headlamp leveling facility offers perfect light beam adjustment, thereby increasing the visibility during night. All these features ensure better handling of this sedan.
Safety
The crash-resistant structure of Maruti Swift Dzire ensures better safety of its occupants. The dual front air bags shield the front-seat occupants from the impact of a head-on collision. Collapsible steering column reduces the risk of injury in case of an accident. The seat belts are equipped with safety-enhancing pretensioners. Apart from this, Dzire comes with an Antilock Braking System (ABS), which prevents uncontrolled skids while applying brakes on slippery roads and ensures a minimum stopping distance. The Electronic Braking force Distribution (EBD) distributes the braking forces between front & rear wheels.
